Derrick Jernigan, owner of Jernigan Drywall & Acoustical, grew up locally in Powder Springs, Georgia, where he was introduced to the construction industry through his family’s contracting business. Following high school and the events of 9/11, Derrick enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, where he developed the discipline, leadership, and mission-focused mindset that continue to influence his professional life today. Returning home from active duty in 2006, he enrolled in and earned a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Kennesaw State University (formerly Southern Polytechnic State University) while gaining hands-on field experience with a leading commercial drywall contractor. Over the past two decades, Derrick has built a career defined by integrity, accountability, and respect—values that now form the foundation of Jernigan Drywall & Acoustical.
